Vision For Niceville

Provide transparent, responsive, and sustainable City services to support residents of Niceville while balancing smart growth initiatives in a geographically constrained community with a focus on improving quality of life for all citizens and visitors.


Background

Mr. Tolbert is an active volunteer in the Niceville community and has previously served on the City Planning Commission, the Okaloosa-Walton Traffic Planning Organization, and the City Charter Review Committee. He has also volunteered with youth sports, mentored and coached middle-school mathematics teams, and was a member of the Niceville High School Advisory Council. Doug is currently employed as a Civil Servant with the Department of the Air Force at Hurlburt Field as a flight instructor and quality assurance representative. Mr. Tolbert served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years and retired after a career flying, primarily special operations aircraft, around the world defending America’s freedom.

Family

Doug first moved to the local area with the military in 1991 where he met, and subsequently married Rhonda in 1997. They moved to Niceville in 2006 to raise their family. Their only child, Alexandria, attended public school at Edge Elementary, Ruckel Middle, and graduated from Niceville High School.
