An adult must accompany children at all times while they are in the Children's Park. Safety First!

The City of Niceville would like to express our gratitude to this community and all of the Children's Park supporters!

Due to revenue shortfalls for the City of Niceville, the decision has been made to cut some hours in the Park to save money, and to add and increase some of our fees. As of April 2, 2008, the new hours and fee changes are as follows:

WELCOME TO THE NICEVILLE
CHILDREN'S PARK

    Welcome to the Niceville Children's Park. We are located in the Civic Center Complex at 204 N. Partin Drive, across from Ruckel Middle School. We are proud of our beautiful park, and we take pride in keeping it clean, and in making it a safe, fun place to bring your children. We have courteous park attendants on duty who welcome your questions, your concerns, and are here to offer any assistance you may need while visiting the Park. We work together to make the park a fun and happy place for children to come and play, and for adults to relax and enjoy watching them. The park rules are in place to protect the children and the equipment. Please come out and enjoy the park, and work with us to insure the safety of the children.
    Walkways are available to allow easy access throughout the park. Seating areas, with gazebos and cabanas, are available where families and friends can share a meal. In the center of the park you will find an area with tables and umbrella's that will shade you while you are eating or resting. There are drink machines available in that area. Bathroom facilities, including changing tables, are located in the Park.
    Some of the attractions you will find in the park are: sandboxes filled with pails and shovels, a bubble machine where with a push of a button the sky fills with bubbles, age-appropriate equipment such as slides, monkey bars, rocking dinosaurs, and diggers.
    In the summer of 2006 we opened our Children's Spray Park and it has been very popular. The Spray Park has two palm trees, one that sprays water from the leaves, and one that has coconuts that will fill up and drop water frequently, soaking those below. A Blue Heron will surprise children by soaking them as they walk by. Magic Mushrooms spray water all around and make a tent for the children to hide under to watch the others playing. The children have a great time cooling off during the hot days and warm evenings, and comfortable tables, chairs, and umbrellas are available for the adults to relax and enjoy watching the children play. This Spray Park is seasonal. Please check the hours before planning your visit.

THE CITY OF NICEVILLE WILL CLOSE THE CHILDREN'S PARK WHENEVER THE SAFETY OF PARK VISITORS IS IN QUESTION.

The park attendant may close the park at their discretion for the safety of visitors due to weather conditions. For example, when:
- the heat index exceeds 95 degrees
- the wind chill drops below 40 degrees
- lightning is spotted in the area
- it begins to rain (it takes approx. two hours after a rain for the park to dry sufficiently to re-open)

MAKE YOUR MARK AT THE NICEVILLE CHILDREN'S PARK

Become a permanent part of our community by buying a brick for yourself or as a unique and special gift for family or friends. Signature bricks are engraved with a personalized message that will create a wall throughout the William C. Jordan Children's Park.

The "Buy a Brick" campaign offers individuals, families, businesses and organizations an opportunity to have a permanent, personalized brick that will be viewed by all who visits our park. Bricks can be purchased in two sizes. Standard 4" x8" size for individuals or families at $45.00 and $55.00 for business, teams, and organizations .Large 8" x 16" size bricks are available for $180.00 each. Also available to add to your brick: heart, rocking horse, dog, kite, flower, castle, and teddy bear.

Examples of personalizing bricks are Eric & Lacy, " The Campbell Family" and " Don and Dana 1/92". The standard size bricks can accommodate a maximum of three lines of words: 15 characters per line. The large size bricks can accommodate five lines of words, 24 characters per line. Advance order and payment for bricks are required.

Complete the order form and return it with check or money order made payable to the City of Niceville. Notification will be sent when your brick is hung in the park. Mail to Niceville Public Library, Attn. Children's park manager, 206 N. Partin Dr., Niceville Fl. 32578
