Mission Statement: Support Niceville Library in its efforts to provide high quality, lifelong service to all.
Member of the Niceville-Valparaiso-Bay Area Chamber of Commerce
The Friends Group is a committee of the Friends of the Niceville Public Library, "The Foundation"
Who are the Friends of the Niceville Public Library? You are! Anyone can become a Friend of the Library! If you love books, seek information, read anything, listen to music or watch movies—you are a Friend. There are no age limits for our Friends; people of all ages, backgrounds and interests are welcome to join. We treasure ideas and recognize that our public library is a vital community resource. We appreciate the City of Niceville for providing us with a superb library that stands ready to serve the entire community with excellent resources and the highest level of customer service.
What do the Friends do? The Friends help with library programs, raise funds for special projects, volunteer for special events and programs, become library advocates, promote community awareness of the library, and support the freedom of individuals to access all types of information. Books donated by the community are sold, and the proceeds are used for library projects. Some Friends are deeply involved; some simply lend moral support. All have the satisfaction of knowing they have joined with others to demonstrate unwavering support for their public library.
Friends Book Store
Our Friends Book Store is open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Two volunteers run the store while it is open, so volunteers are always needed. If you are interested in being a volunteer, please give your contact information to one of the librarians. If you have books to donate, they can be dropped off at the Library during normal business hours. You can also obtain a tax receipt by leaving name and address, then a letter will be forwarded to you. We do not except textbooks, encyclopedias, or newspapers. We sell items at reasonable prices, including: Book Bags, Mugs, Buttons, Cookbooks, Hard backs, Trade paperbacks, Mass Market paperbacks, Audio's/Videos, Magazine bundles, Puzzles, and some Record Albums.
Friends Group Calendar
The Friends Group sponsors many programs through the library. They are all included on the Community Calendar.
